Where To Start With Your Managed Forex Account

By Roger K. Moxie

The Forex market may be a bit difficult to understand at first, but once you get it, you're set. Forex stands for Foreign Exchange. You may also see it listed as FX. If you've researched and still don't fully understand what Forex is, you may want to consider a managed Forex account. If you take a look at the Forex market, there are many terms that you may not understand. With the Forex being the largest market in the world, it would be good to get a better idea of what to expect from the Forex market.

Completely different from all other trading markets and exchanges in the world, the Forex has no physical building or trading floor. Allowing for non stop trading, the market is completely virtual. You can trade any time of any day. With the Forex being run by a network of lending institutions and corporations globally, you can feel safe that your money is safe and secure. The Forex market is all about monies changing hands.

The USD is the center of the Forex universe. All prices are compared to the United States dollar. While there is much to be gained in trading the Forex, you must be very careful and consider several external factors. Politics and money make the world go round. That's all well and good until one strongly affects the other. When there is a political upheaval, currency may be erratic, at best. Presidential elections in the United States always spark a large change in currency rates.

Just like any other market, there are risks to the Forex market. It's a very complex market and many people prefer to leave the buying and selling of foreign currencies up to someone else. Brokers in the Forex market are unlike those in any other exchange. It can be very cumbersome to take on a broker. Seeing an opportunity to bridge the gap, management companies have popped up all across the globe.

Your Forex managed account will be maintained by a highly skilled pro when you use an account manager or management company. They will capture information regarding the latest trends and inform you of what would be wise and unwise in trades. An account manager will let you know when it's wise to dump your currency or pick it up for a bargain. Know that you are not alone in your investing. Your account manager will become just like a member of the family. They get paid differently than other advisors, so you don't have to worry about money pushing their buttons.

Look for a Forex account management company that has a proven track record of earnings increases. While it's understandable that the markets fluctuate and you can't win every time, be weary of companies who are always in the red. Check into the background of the management company and make sure that you've settled on the fee amount before you make your first trade.

The only thing you need to do with your managed Forex account is give the final say in trade moves. An account manager will advise you on all of the research they've done and any factors currently moving the market. Risk is risk, if you're going to trade in the Forex or any other market, you're going to have to take a leap of faith and accept the wisdom of your manager. Trends play a huge part in the Forex market, follow them. Not following them usually has some pretty unwanted results.

It's alright to be up in the air over the Forex market and all of the terms and moves involved. Don't go it alone. Your managed Forex account is safest with your account manager. They will send you in the right direction, every time! Good luck and trade smart! - 23226

Are Penny Stocks Too Risky For You?

By Marco Davies

We all know the term 'high-risk investment' often sounds frightening, and frequently this set phrase alone is enough to put a good many savers off - because at the end of the day no one wants to take a chance. The difficulty with obtaining any sort of stock (high-risk or not) is that it's invariably a risk.

There is a great deal of information swimming around on the Internet regarding penny stocks. Just about everyone with an e-mail address has received spam at some time or another, touting them as the next extraordinary investment funds. Regrettably, much of this info is pitched toward defrauding you in some form or another, and it's in all likelihood that you will lose your funds that you set up into the shares advertised in this manner. This is not an indication that all penny stocks will be bad trades, or that every individual investment is a con, in fact, far from it as some may be very profitable.

Penny stocks are affordably valued stocks or shares in companies or business enterprises that are thought of "small," as opposed to large corporations. There are not that many shareholders involved, making them less 'fluid' than many other varieties of stock. The object of speculating in penny stocks it to spend only a tiny amount of money in the beginning to savor a big return subsequently, but does it work this way? It does, now and again, just not regularly but for people who know what they're doing when they invest, they can be a great investment funds instrument. Dominating the art of dealing in penny stocks can be awkward, nonetheless.

Basically, penny stocks don't trade on the major stock exchanges, rather, they are acknowledged as "over the counter" investments, listed on Pink Sheets and the OTCBB. This makes them rather extraordinary, and somewhat more difficult to locate for a good many speculators. Penny shares also do not trade very frequently, so now and again investors have very little time to act. Because trading doesn't occur often, there is always the fear of being not able to trade one's stocks and landing up with a poor investment funds. This is just all part of the challenge of dealing in penny stocks, and numerous speculators consider this makes the game all the more intriguing. When you invest, you should get monthly updates that inform you of how your stock is managing.

Many investors consider penny stocks too unsafe but the only individual who can determine that is you. It's all down to how much gambling with your funds you wish to do, just how much you are aware penny stocks, and how fortunate you feel. If you imagine speculating your money in penny stocks is a good idea, then it probably is but everyone has a different thought so study them, and form your own views. - 23226

If You Are Having a Difficult Time Getting Started on Forex...

By Alex Miller

If you're unfamiliar with trading on the Forex market, yet you would like to get started rather quickly there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. The first of these is that it is not as difficult as you might think to get started with trading right out of the starting gate. As a matter of fact, understanding just a few basic principles about the Forex market will help you to get started rather quickly.

The first thing that you need to understand about the Forex market is the fact that it is a zero-sum market. You're not going to find any trades that happened on the Forex market in which money is somehow generated, each trade is equally balanced. Since you are trading one currency for another, there is going to be somebody that comes out on the winning end and somebody that comes out on the losing end, it is as simple as that.

Even though you may not realize this, it is not possible for you to trade on forex without going through a broker who is qualified to place the trade for you. Although you have the opportunity to access the broker over the telephone, many people are simply going with an online platform because of the benefits that it gives to you. One of the main benefits that comes from using an online platform is the fact that you can trade in real time.

There are a number of other benefits that you will receive by joining one of these online platforms. First of all, many of them have plenty of tutorials that will walk you through the process of trading from the beginning through the end. There are also a number of tools that are available on the inside which will not only help you automate many of the tasks of trading on Forex, they can also help you to gauge which direction the market is moving.

These other tools are generally lumped into one category of being Forex systems or programs. The fact of the matter is, they actually cover several different functions that are beneficial to anyone who trades in Forex. The first of these functions which some of the programs do is to guide you as far as where you should be placing your trades for that day or week. The other systems are either partially or fully automated.

If you plan on using one of these automated systems, I would advise you to proceed with caution. I'm not saying that it is not a good idea to use the systems as many people use them with great success. What I am saying, however, is that you should always maintain control of your financial business, whether it is on the Forex market or in any other way. Never allow a program to run freely without some kind of input from you.

The Forex market is a great way for you to be able to build back up a portfolio that may have seen better times before the world economy had so many problems. It is also a great way for you to get started in any type of trading. All that is really necessary is for you to understand the basic principles behind Forex and then you can jump right in with both feet. Make sure that you continue to learn and you will be able to be successful with your trading practices. - 23226

Get To Know The Hanging Man Pattern When You Learn Technical Analysis

By Chris Blanchet

In order to make quick money in the markets, traders need to assess opportunities that are created by volatility and fluctuations in security prices. To do this efficiently, all serious trades will learn technical analysis skills, which give them an indication as to when they should enter and exit a position with the least amount of risk to their capital. For short-term trades, investors will study short-term patterns.

In this part of the Learn Technical Analysis Series, we study the Hanging Man. As a short-term pattern, the Hanging Man gives investors an indication as to the security's immediate price expectation, which would be downward since it is a bearish signal.

When trying to identify a Hanging Man pattern, investors need to pull up the candlestick chart for the security in question. Rookie investors who have just begun to learn technical analysis will identify this type of chart type by a day's "Real Body" which is a box made up of one horizontal line for the security's open and another horizontal line for the close, and two vertical lines that join them (or box them in). The "Shadow" is the range in which the security trades over and below the Real Body.

The Hanging Man will consist of a small "Black Body" formed by a higher open and a lower close, as well as a long "Lower Shadow" meaning the stock traded much lower than the close at some point in the day. Ideally, the Lower Shadow will be at least twice as long as the Body. If you are just starting to learn technical analysis, the Hanging Man might look like a square tadpole with a straight tail.

As with any pattern, people who learn technical analysis will still want to confirm signals with other indicators, including fundamental analysis.

On the open of the day following the Hanging Man pattern, investors should seek a gap down from the Real Body of the pattern. The wider the gap (the farther down it opens from the Real Body) the better. Additional confirmation can be obtained if the Real Body of the day that follows the pattern is entirely below the Real Body of the Hanging Man pattern. Since most traders who learn technical analysis will not wait two days to execute a trade based on a Hanging Man, other technical and fundamental indicators should be used to confirm or refute the pattern early.

Some things investors should be cautious about is overall bullish market activity. Overly bullish markets often product false Hanging Man patterns, which can be confirmed when the open following the pattern is higher than the Real Body. Also, investors should not overlook the "color" of the Hanging Man's Real Body. Remember that "green and White are a Bear Trap's Delight" when it comes to the Hanging Man.

Without question, people who learn technical analysis can use their skills as primary discovery tools for buying and selling opportunities, or as confirmation for trades. Ultimately, they will make smarter trades and enjoy the rewards. - 23226

Different Types Of Stop Loss Orders

By Ahmad Hassam

If a trader is to maintain a degree of profitability over time, managing risk and using systems that helps evaluate price changes is critical. You should understand how to select stop orders to limit your potential losses and how to let profits ride.

The descriptions of the types of stops and the pros and cons of each should help you make the right decisions for the different market conditions. Capturing as much profit as possible from winning trades should be your utmost goal. Managing risk should be your number one job.

You should know the various types of stop loss orders. You should also know where and when to place these stops. Predetermined stop loss orders help you conquer your emotions. Stops should be part of the trading system and included in your trading rules.

Set a stop objective. Weigh the risk/reward ratio before entering each trade. Stop orders can be placed close to the entry level when volatility is low. However, when the volatility is high, stop orders should be placed further from the entry level.

Initially you will form an opinion based on your gut feelings that is substantiated by a trade signal. When entering a trade make sure you know where and why to put the stop order.

However, you will undoubtedly get caught in the news driven price shock events that make the markets highly unpredictable in the short run. These news releases cause price spikes that may make an adverse move against your position.

Stop orders can also be placed to enter positions. Stop orders that you place online in case the market trades at a certain price. The order will be triggered when that price level is reached and become a market order to be filled in by the next best price available. Stop orders are placed to protect against losses.

Sell stops are placed below the current market price. Buy stops are placed above the current market price. Protective stops are used to offset a position and to protect against losses and against accrued profits.

You can set a daily dollar amount on the loss limit. If you want to risk only $250 per $100,000 standard lot position then your stop loss will be placed 25 pips from your entry point. Stops can be placed on a dollar amount per position.

Traders use 2-5% of the overall account size as their stop loss. If your trading account size is $10,000, this comes out to be $200-$500. You can also use a certain percent of your overall account size as your stop loss.

Many traders tend to turn winners into losers as they get in the let it ride mindset. The trailing stop reduces the chance to let trades ride. Swing traders can use the automatic trailing stop. This makes the decision making process fully automated. - 23226
