Forex Trading Accounts and Forex Education

By Bart Icles

At this point of your forex education, you must already be familiar with how foreign exchange trading works ? it is the buying and selling of different currencies. This significantly liquid marketplace attracts many new investors each day, and these individual investors can readily compete with large banks and hedge funds. The success of any forex investor relies on several different factors, one of which is setting up the appropriate forex account. There are basically three types of trading accounts in the forex market: standard, mini, and managed. Each of these trading accounts has its own advantages and disadvantages. Choosing which trading account to open is typically determined by the investor's tolerance for risk, the size of initial investment, and the amount of time an investor has for participating in forex trading on a day to day basis.

The most common type of forex trading account is referred to as the standard trading account. The name of this kind of trading account is taken from the fact that investors who open this type of account have access to standard lots of currency. You might have learned from your forex education that a standard lot is worth $100,000, and this is pretty much observed by everyone who participates in forex trading. However, having access to a standard lot does not mean giving out $100,000 of capital before you can start trading. It simply means you must have $1,000 in your margin account so you can start trading one standard lot.

Mini trading accounts are simply trading accounts that allow traders to make transactions with the use of mini lots. Most mini lots are equivalent to one-tenth of a standard trading account, which is around $10,000 dollars. Most brokers that offer standard trading accounts typically offer mini trading accounts as well. This is one way of attracting new investors who are still hesitant to trade full lots due to the amount of investment needed.

Another type of forex trading account is called managed trading account. In managed trading accounts, the capital is owned by the investor but decisions whether to buy or sell are made by account managers. These account managers handle the trading account for the forex investors, very much like how stock brokers handle managed stock accounts.

It helps to give time to your forex education so you can learn more about these accounts. Knowing the different advantages and disadvantages of these three different accounts will help you determine which kind of forex trading account to setup so your needs and objectives can be best met. - 23226

The Basics to Forex

By Thomas Gregory

What is forex? Forex stands for foreign exchange. The foreign exchange market is where money is bought and sold between different countries. It is one of the largest and most dynamic markets in the world doing over $2 trillion a day! It is not hard to see why this market is so appealing.

Now you may be wondering why someone would be buying and selling money. We use money to buy stuff, not buy other money? Well if you think about it for a second it's not all that strange. If you are traveling to a foreign country the first thing you do when you arrive is exchange "your" money for "their" money so you can pay for goods and services while in the country. This is usually done at a currency exchange or bank. When you return home one does the same thing in reverse. Now sometimes you will notice the value has changed between the two exchanges, you may make a small profit or take a small loss.

These same transactions are happening on usually a much larger scale and much more often on the forex market. The difference is a forex trader is not exchanging money because he returned from a trip abroad. He is doing this to try and take advantage of the shifts in exchange rates. This allows him to profit and if you know what you are doing you too can profit very handsomely and regularly.

Now if you are looking to day trade forex, this can be very appealing. Not only can you sit at home, but you can do it 24 hours a day. This is because forex is traded globally and as one market is closing the next market is opening for business. This allows for almost non stop trading action and profit possibilities. Very exciting!

The other exciting thing is that you only need an internet connection (high speed) to begin day trading forex currency. Now depending on who you sign up with there may be some minimum deposits to open your account but these minimums are fairly cheap. Especially with amount of money you can make.

For someone new to forex, there are even automated programs out there that will log into your account and make trades. Now you don't even have to worry about missing trades or big market shifts while you sleep. These automated robots or expert advisors are all over the internet so do some research first.

While forex can be an extremely exciting way to make a lot of money, if you don't know what you're doing it can also get very expensive. Make sure you do some studying. There are a ton of books and courses out there that can help the newbie trader. Don't get discouraged, just risk what your comfortable losing and learn from the mistakes.

It used to be that forex was only available to governments, large institutions, and banks. Well with the advent of the internet even the average person can day trade forex. Day trading forex currency can be very fun and easy to get into. But it will take time and work to master. You need to start somewhere, so enjoy your journey! - 23226

Why Understading World Economics Matters To You

By Adela Thomas

When Understanding Finance, it is very important that you recognize the pros and cons of any system. This not only is limited to your own system of recognizing what is important to you, but also a much more broad category of finance. You should understand as much as possible about the subject of money in order to really know what the best use of your time and money is.

You can learn all about various things such as monetary policy, the history of money, various currency, reserve currencies, the dollars function in global economics, and the possibility of an international currency, and what role a reserve currency globally has on the economy under various monetary systems.

The world currency refers to which the vast majority of international transactions take place and which serves as the world's primary way of receiving money. In March 2009, as a result of the, have pressed for urgent consideration of a global currency and panel has proposed greatly expanded the reasons for having great supplies of money. The countries of the world, all, require money in some form or the other.

It is undeniable and must be received in order for a country to survive. The world's currency has many faces, and denominations. From the US Dollar to the Israeli Shekel, the colors, the shapes, the varieties are as different as the people of the world. The currency that is used the most has to be the US Dollar. Some of the currency that is in the world today is as a piece of art, beautiful, sometimes not the value of the paper printed, but still a work of art.

One of the reasons the dollar is so valuable, is because it has reserve status. The Bretton Woods agreement called for a reserve currency around the world that would be held by all for stability. At the time, the dollar was 100% backed by silver and gold, however as it stands, it has lost that security. Fortunately for the world economy, the US government has shown its ability to produce and deal with periods of instability.

Unfortunately the danger that we are approaching is that the US may lose its status as a superpower as China continues to grow its economy and other nations around the world continue to grow. This should be a concern to your personal finances because if the dollar loses its reserve currency status, that means that the dollar will lose value, while things like gold, oil, precious metals and other commodities will maintain their value, increasing their value when priced in dollars - 23226

Forex Signals and Alerts

By Bart Icles

Forex signals are among the most important aspects of forex trading that traders need to understand. Being able to understand trends and read forex signals will enable traders to make more reasonable decisions. In doing so, more profits can be made and less damage can be incurred. These signals are typically based from actual proven techniques which are associated with the technical analysis of several macroeconomic indicators. Oftentimes, signals are sent to subscribers through email ? although there are several other ways by which trading signals are released or published. These other ways include traditional newsletters and forex trading signals.

More often than not, it does not really matter if you choose to receive forex alerts in a method that is far different from the others. What is important is you are able to process and use these signals or alerts so you can make more sound trading decisions.

But before you can receive alerts in your email or on your mobile, you will first need to subscribe to a forex trading signal service. Usually, forex trading signal service companies offer various methods for sending alerts. One way is through email. Signals can be sent to your email several times a day that in some cases, traders would mistake them as spam or junk mail.

Another way of keeping you updated with the latest trends in the forex world is through your mobile phone. Yes, your mobile phone can easily become a powerful forex alert tool these days. Most forex signals and alerts sent to mobile phones contain real time information on the actual currency pair you are looking out for. This means you can have the most up to date idea on how your selected currency pair is performing in the market.

The bottom line is that forex signals are generated as soon as a technical analysis has been done. In the same manner, forex alerts have come into place so that currency traders will not miss out on the latest trends in the forex world. Forex alerts serve as early warning devices so that forex trading brokers and traders can almost instantly read the clues and decide whether or not to enter or exit the market. In this manner, more profits can be generated and the losses that can be incurred can be kept at a minimum. While the foreign exchange or currency market remains unpredictable, forex alerts are there to keep us informed of important things right when they arise. - 23226

Currency Profile Of US Dollar (Part III)

By Ahmad Hassam

Prior to September 11, US Dollar was considered one of the premier safe haven currencies in the world because the risk of severe US instability was considered to be very low. United States was known to have one of the safest and the most developed capital markets in the world.

This allowed United States to attract investments from all over the world at a discounted rate of return. Almost 76% of the global currency reserves were in US Dollar. Post 9/11, foreign investors and the Central Banks are not so sure about the US Dollar due to the increased US uncertainty like the present recession and decreasing interest rates.

Important countries that peg their currencies to US Dollar are China and Hong Kong. Many developing and emerging countries peg their local currencies to US Dollar. China is a very active participant of the global currency markets because its maximum float per day is controlled within a narrow band based on the previous days closing US Dollar rates. Any fluctuations beyond this band will invite intervention by the Chinese Central Bank that may include buying and selling US Dollars.

EU represents a market as large as US with its own single currency Euro. The emergence of Euro is also threatening the US Dollar as the worlds premier reserve currency. Euro has provided an alternative to the US Dollar. With the passage of time, it is feared that Euro will emerge as a strong challenger to the dominance of US Dollar. Recently a group of countries like China, France and others have called for the introduction of a new global reserve currency by the IMF that should replace the US Dollar. If this happens in the next few years, it may have far reaching implications of the US Dollar and the US economy.

Many central banks have already begun to diversify their foreign exchange reserves by reducing their US Dollar holdings and increasing their holdings in Euro and the gold. The interest rate differentials between the US Treasuries and foreign bonds are followed by the professional forex traders with keen interest. It can be a very strong indicator of potential currency movements because the US markets are the largest markets in the world and the investors all over the world are very sensitive to the yields offered by the US assets.

The USDX is a futures contract traded on the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT). Market participants also closely watch the US Dollar Index as an indicator of overall US Dollar strength or weakness. It is important to follow this index because when the market analysts are talking of general US Dollar weakness, they are referring to this index.

The US Stock and Bond markets also impact US Dollar. Cross border merger and acquisitions involve big forex transactions and are also very important for forex traders to watch.

The following economic indicators are important for the US Dollar: Employment, Nonfarm payrolls, International Trade, Employment Cost Index, Industrial Production, Consumer Confidence, Retail Sales, Consumer Price Index, Produced Price Index, GDP, TIC Data etc. - 23226
